When I was a kid, a friend of mine used to say that if he were ever granted the "super power" of his choice, it would be the ability to speak in any language, any dialect, and with any accent.
True. And more and more, one wouldn't even need to travel much to put the skill to good use. But such a "super power" would also give it's bearer a chameleonic advantage -- he or she would be able to more easily blend into any group -- or stand out -- as desired.
Agreed. One would find it useful in that one wouldn't be charged the "tourist" prices for things if one can speak the language without and accent giving one away.
